Balloon Pumps are part of LV support and reduction of ischaemic burden or prophylaxis in poor LVF cases.
They are run and maintained by the perfusion service and senior nurses of CICU and the consultants.
Luckily the are now fairly automatic in areas that you will come across them in use.
