COVID-19 in maternity services

COVID-19 is an unpredictable illness which can be worse in those with co-morbidities such as asthma, cardiac conditions, hypertension, diabetes and in those on immunosuppressants.

QCCH is a high risk tertiary referral centre for maternal and fetal care and may see parturient patients with comorbidity. 

Attached is guidance designed to support the management of mild illness and to signpost when escalation may be required within Maternity, our standard operating procedures for regional anaesthesia for labour in COVID-19 and the management of COVID-19 in Maternity.
